2021 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship mascot competition contest has been extended

The 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship organizing committee has decided to extend the open mascot competition. Applications will now be accepted until 1st December.

To participate in the competition interested persons should send their ideas to mascot@2021iihfwm.com until 1st December 2019.

The jury will choose the winner from all the participants until 9th December 2019. There is no limit to the number of entries one can make. The regulations for the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship mascot competition can be found HERE!

The finalists of the mascot competition for the 2021 IIHF WM will be announced during the upcoming 2020 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division I Group A, which will be held in Minsk, Belarus. This announcement will happen during the Latvia vs Belarus game.  Then the winner of the mascot competition will be announced on 30th December during the KHL game between Dinamo Minsk and Dinamo Riga.

Not only the president of the Latvian Hockey Federation, Aigars Kalvītis, and chairman of Belarusian Ice Hockey Association, Gennadi Savilov, but also a jury, which will consist of famous athletes and well-known celebrities, will participate in choosing the winner.

The creator with the best idea will receive five sets with 2 tickets each for any of the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship games of their choice. The winner will also get a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes for one of the games.

The second-placed participant will receive two tickets of their choice for three games (excluding semi-finals and finals), for the third place there will be two tickets for two games of their choice for the preliminary round.
