No 1. – 5. maijam trīs Latvijas pārstāvji piedalīsies Starptautiskās Hokeja federācijas (IIHF) organizētajās Vispasaules „ PRASMJU UN IZVEICĪBAS ” IZAICINĀJUMA SACENSĪBU finālā. Šīs sacensības ir izsludinājusi Starptautiskā hokeja federācija (IIHF) pēc kuras ieceres šāds konkurss norisinās pilnīgi visās pasaules valstīs, kuras ir IIHF dalībnieces. Šīs sacensības ir viens no IIHF ieplānotajiem hokeja simtgades svinību pasākumiem visā pasaulē. Saskaņā ar nolikumu konkursā piedalījās 1993. gadā dzimuši un jaunāki zēni un meitenes, izpildot 5 dažādus IIHF izstrādātus hokeja pārbaudījumus. Uzvarētāji tika noskaidroti trīs grupās – zēni, meitenes un vārtsargi.

Latviju šajās sacensībās Kanādā pārstāvēs Latvijas Hokeja federācijas (LHF) rīkotā „ PRASMJU UN IZVEICĪBAS ” IZAICINĀJUMA SACENSĪBU Latvijas finālsacensību uzvarētāji:
Uzvarētājs laukuma spēlētāju konkurencē – Aigars Pauče (HK Prizma-Pārdaugava);
Uzvarētāja meiteņu konkurencē – Paula Liepa (HK Zemgale);
Uzvarētājs vārtsargu konkurencē – Rihards Cimermanis (HK Profs/Rīga).
Visi nacionālā atlašu uzvarētāji sacentīsies savā starpā Kvebekā (Quebec city) Kanādā no 1. – 5. maijam (Pasaules čempionāta laikā), lai noskaidrotu labāko vispasaules mērogā.
